Our standards

Standards and
independence.

What each clinic status means, how we assess clinics, and why payment never decides an outcome.

Our verification levels

Listed

A clinic with a directory profile. Listing does not mean the clinic has been independently verified or accredited by Dental Registry.

Verified

A clinic that has undergone and passed Dental Registry’s defined remote credential and documentation checks.

Verification may include relevant professional registrations, qualifications, clinic licensing and supporting documentation, according to the scope of the assessment.

Accredited

Dental Registry’s highest assessment status.

An Accredited clinic must have completed the required verification checks and undergone an on-site assessment of its facilities, procedures and patient-care arrangements against Dental Registry’s accreditation criteria. Accreditation is never awarded without an on-site assessment.

How we assess clinics

Dental Registry assesses clinics against defined requirements appropriate to the level of recognition being sought.

Verification focuses on relevant credentials, registrations and supporting documentation.

Accreditation involves additional assessment, including a mandatory on-site visit to evaluate the clinic’s facilities, procedures and patient-care arrangements.

Assessment decisions are made by authorised individuals based on the evidence reviewed. AI may assist with administrative tasks but does not independently award verification or accreditation.

Our independence

Trust should be earned, not purchased.

Dental Registry’s assessment decisions are separate from its commercial activities.

Clinics may pay for assessment services or optional promotional features, but payment does not guarantee Verified or Accredited status.

Paid visibility does not alter a clinic’s assessment outcome or the standards it must meet.

Transparency and accountability

We aim to make the meaning of each clinic’s status clear and provide patients with information that supports informed decisions.

We maintain internal records of assessments and decisions. Concerns about the accuracy of a clinic’s information or its assessment status can be raised with Dental Registry for review.

What our assessments mean

Verification and accreditation reflect the scope of checks completed by Dental Registry. They are not guarantees of treatment quality, clinical outcomes or freedom from complications.

Dental Registry recognition is independent of government licensing, professional registration and statutory healthcare regulation. Clinics and individual practitioners remain responsible for meeting applicable legal and professional requirements in their countries.
